I check into this site multiple times a day and there is always something to read and feed my Chargers addiction. Thank you for providing this site and the camaraderie that goes on here. Just a small note that BFTB has locked down (closed comments) on the Fanpost section that point out Thunder Down Under and Stormcloud. Specifically Buck’s “Until MP Returns” and Alister’s “Next Episode”. I am not sure when as it has been a minute since i visited BFTB.
The crazy and exciting news from that site is that we signed Bud Dupree. This last sentence is Sarcasm font (control I).
Thank you! This has honestly been one of the most fun/rewarding projects I’ve embarked on. If you are enjoying the site as it is, I can promise you it’s only going to get better – I’m toying with things on the site for multiple hours a day tweaking things and trying to improve everything here. It’s a slow process because I have no idea how to develop a site, but it’s slowly coming together, thanks to AI, YouTube videos, and the occasional dev contractor when I get stuck :). I have a list of improvements I’m currently working on, and once I comb through those, I’ll be asking all of you for new suggestions on how to improve things!
Ryan and I are going to get podcasting soon – we are just waiting on a branding kit to be developed to give us a crisper look, and it’s just made sense for us to prioritize building a foundation of content for this site. But in short order, we’ll have a consistently flow of content coming from three podcasts and a multitude of writers.
I don’t believe BFTB intentionally shut down those pages – comments close on FanPosts after 30 days. But, if you do go back and see a friendly face in the comments of a new article, don’t hesitate to give them a friendly nudge to come over :). I know a lot readers never thing to look at the FanPost section.
@kylededi Very exciting for you and Ryan. I love the entrepreneurial spirit that you both have. I will make sure on the occasions that I visit that site to mention StormCloud every time. I was not aware that they shut down the comments at the 30-day mark. I have to admit as a business owner I would have shut down those types of comments that direct you to another site. Vox is obviously having issues and are not supporting their own site with content. Thank goodness you guys jumped into this gap.
@spanos-must-go I agree, I definitely would have shut those down as well, and would have had zero issue if I noticed my FanPost was deleted. It’s pretty clear there’s basically no oversight/monitoring going on without MP there.
VOX is likely going to have some issues moving forward as well, sadly.
First – they refused to provide writing coverage for Michael’s leave, and expected Ryan and I to keep the lights on for a site they wouldn’t invest in to improve. Then, they laid off all the SB Nation podcast teams, including those from very successful sites like the Pride of Detroit. Now, there’s a AI contract in the mix with no transparency on what it’s for.
I really don’t like the direction it’s headed. It’s an absolute shame VOX is turning it’s back on the products that made it a powerhouse (SB Nations impressive network of fan sites), and diverted the profits from that business to try and grow it’s influence in outside markets.
@kylededi Funny that you jumped into this void left by Vox. If you go to the available NHL sites, there are only like 10 and not all are even original 6 or major market teams. When you google lets say “New York Rangers SB Nation” it brings you to Blue Shirt Banter, which resembles the SB nation layout a little and has articles and game threads with comments and some of the articles need you to be a member to see, but it is not an SB nation site. Not sure if this is because Vox dropped the Rangers or what, but you figure a major market flagship NHL team would have an SB nation site, especially if you are not going to host one for every team. Anyhoo, great to have some new digs here, to talk about our favorite football team with some interesting daily topics from some great contributing fans. Wonder how long before the trolls find our new location?
Thank you for taking the time to set this site up. I recently migrated from Bolts from the Blue to here after reading about this link. There seems to a lack of fandom and articles after the draft compared to most years. Or it’s just the slow part of the football calender. But it’s good to see some familiar faces (names) from BFTB here. In Harbaugh We Trust!
@aircoryell73 Thank you! Things at BFTB tapered off because Michael had to take his paternity leave, and the powers that refused to flex a writer to the site or add resources to replace MP’s production while he was gone. However, he’s back now, so BFTB should be back to status-quo as he gets things fired back up, and I’d encourage everyone to keep visiting the site and supporting Michael.
I personally won’t be dabbling much over there; dealing with VOX and the lack of commitment to invest in the site was disheartening. I’d rather pour as much energy into making this site a success, and scaling it up to provide as much fun community-involved content as possible.
@buck-melanoma Same here, I will be here first each day. I do not even care if a piece of breaking news hits this site a day late. The discussion level and community input here is worth waiting for. BFTB is something for when I am bored and have time, which almost never happens.
@kylededi I just looked at the site and saw four new articles. Sorry, but it may be a while before I read any of them. Right now, my time is spent here as I want to support this behavior and effort and not support the effort/treatment of BFTB.

It would be great to have a background or overview of our new WR coach. He has a ton of experience and worked on a lot of teams and great players.
He has a lot of work on his plate to get these new receivers up to speed. It would be great to learn more about his background, teaching philosophy, how he got started, etc.
@pandemicpapi That’s a great topic… maybe @ryanwatkins would be interesting in looking into that one 😉
@pandemicpapi great idea! Would be interesting to dive deeper into the next level of coaches beyond Harbaugh, Roman, Minter, Ficken, & Herbert. Who the real stars are in that next group.
