Harbaugh tells Rodney he’s in the Chargers’ Hall of Fame. Really glad to see this….always liked Rodney and wish he’d remained a Charger.

IMO Harrison deserves to be in the PFHOF.

Rodney was a neighbor for several years (in Georgia). His daughter (Sydney) and mine were on the neighborhood swim team together. Went to several swim meets with our kids. Great guy. Very grounded.

Sucks that the Chargers made the decision to let Rodney leave. Also sucks that Harrison’s best seasons were with the Patriots. If you look at his Wikipedia page, there’s a paragraph on Rodney’s time with the Chargers, then detailed, year by year discussions of the great things he did as a Patriot. Nice that the Chargers are honoring him. I think Rodney probably looks back at his time in NE as the highlight of his career (and looks back at the Chargers as the team that released him during his prime).

@kevdiego idiotic decision by the Chargers. Same with letting Seau go.

He torched the Chargers ownership for letting him go after 9 seasons. Mad respect for the fact that after 9 seasons! he went to NE. I mean dude was the definition of a physical safety and played for 15 seasons. It’s not like the Chargers just gave up on him they figured he wouldnt last that long. They did know Rodney was part alien hitman. My point is props to Rodney who (with the Chargers) not only had 26 INTs but 21.5 sacks most by a Chargers DB. Derwin has 17 so maybe no for long

@ennea Stan Humphries and Bobby Ross drew me to the Chargers. Junior and Rodney were the reasons I stayed (1992).

@ennea I (a little older) drove with a friend to the Murph when the Bolts flew back from Pittsburgh. Amid a raucous crowd, Humphries took the mic and proclaimed, “We’re going to Miami and we’re going to win that sucker!” My friend and I high-fived at the balls it took to call the Super Bowl a “sucker.” Perhaps it was his cavalier attitude that the football gods didn’t like, or maybe it was that ungodly connection between Young and Rice. Whatever. In my boxes somewhere I still have the U-T paper from the next day, front page, above the fold: “Super Bowl, Super Bolts.” Hot damn that was fun.

@buck-melanoma I was hooked by the Fouts teams in the mid 80’s when we got the last 4-5 mins of bonus NFL coverage from the west coast games. The games they aired were usually close games where one team was within one score of wining or tying the game. Those games where the Chargers either had to make a stop to win or better yet were behind, flinging it all over the field in those lightning bolt uniforms was mesmerizing.

Buck how is your trip going? You still stateside?

@erick-v trip is going great! Riding amongst the big trees in the Sierra Nevada now, on to the coast on Thursday. Been gone one month yesterday, ridden about 5600 miles so far. My estimate of 11,000 total might be low.

@erick-v it’s a dream, for sure, but not always relaxing…lol. Crossing the Mojave in triple digit temps on a motorcycle will not need to be done again. 😆

@buck-melanoma I hear that. Well safe travels buddy. Soak it all in and if you get to Mt Rushmore give me a review. It’s a bucket list destination for me.
