Welcome to the party, Blue! Great to see you over here! And thank you – I’m loving Dad life and cherishing every bit of it.

Excited for what’s to come. FYI – there’s some restrictions on posting until you hit 5 posts, so some features will open up as you post. It’s an anti-spam thing.

There’s a lot more coming with this site and plenty to be excited about as Chargers fans!

Up early this morning and spent some time watching the post OTA pressers of a few guys….Herbert, Greg Roman, Derwin, Bosa. There’s a palpable difference in the air. Herbert….composed, confident, intelligent communicator, relaxed.. Roman….pleased with the progress made in OTA’s, stressing the offense will be flexible, the twinkle in his eye when talking about the OL getting “medieval”….damn I love that mentality!! Derwin….like a kid with a new toy on Christmas. His excitement is contagious, his commitment to be the best obvious. Bosa…..excited to be back with Khalil and Tuli, ready to put injuries behind and go play ball.

These players are all professionals and I hesitate to say that they quit on Staley & Co. That’s a big leap to make when you’re not in the clubhouse. BUT….I do believe they were frustrated….disappointed that their abilities were not translating to performance on the field. That’s a tough place to be for proud athletes who push themselves to be the best. They’re hungry to prove that their better than last year’s product.

Those of you who have posted with me for awhile know that I seldom pull out stats and such. I’m more a seat of the pants, observation kinda guy. I learn from all of you who do dissect both the game and the work that goes into building a winning roster. My gut says this time it’s going to be different. Go watch Derwin’s presser and tell me you can’t feel it. Listen to him talk about the way they’re practicing….lifting….learning….walking….tying their shoes, practicing in game jerseys…..buying into a new mentality and identity.

“Chargering” is gonna change. It’s gonna sit right next to “medieval”. Opponents are going to start dreading playing this team because, win lose or draw, they’re gonna know they were in a fight.

I. Can’t. Wait. And I’m damn glad that we’re gonna share this excitement here at this new, growing community. Bring your lunch pail, boys. Time to eat. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

@buck-melanoma I couldn’t agree more Buck! The culture is in full transition and I am so glad to have hung with this team. Every dog has its day!

I debated whether to put this here or on The Popper Hopper thread. I decided Derwin deserves lunch pail status.

@buck-melanoma Hey Buck, as always, thank you for the post. Right after Harbaugh and Minter were hired, I commented that one of the things I wanted to see the most was the old Derwin return.  The old Derwin who played with attitude and was not afraid of anyone. The old Derwin, who would look around and find the fastest player at some event, then challenge them to a race right then and there (remember that?).

Sorry for the rough outing Tech had.  I never really followed them, but your fandom is such that I do peak nowadays to see how they are doing.

I dropped my son off at college two weeks ago in Westminster MD.  I was curious how far away that was from you.  I know that Virginia is a large state.

@foutsmfic hey man….yeah, very disappointed in that Tech loss. By the accounts I’ve read the coaching was atrocious. Ugh….Beamer and the consistent 10+ win seasons seem like a century ago.

Westminster MD is just under 4 hrs from me per Google Maps. What college is there?

@buck-melanoma It is McDaniel College, a small, private school.  I spent a few days there – nice area.

Great Post Buck. I love Mack being the first recipient of the pail. Every time I hear that guy talk I get the feeling that he is a cool, serious dude off the field and an absolute cold blooded terror on it. He just has that cool, bad ass intensity. I like this idea where we can have a Pre game lunch pail post where we each pick a player we like to win the award, and then we can get a Post game one where we can chime in on who earned it in the game. My pick this week is Perryman. I want to finally see someone play the run with some ferocity and physicality and set the tone for the defense early.

@evolz3737 my fervent wish is for a stone cold slobber-knocking defense.

@smith thx buddy. Covid negative and the antibiotics seem to be working.

Thank you all for the well wishes. You’re all lunch pail guys in my book. 🙂

@bolt_dk hell yeah!! I’ve definitely warmed up to Harbaugh quite a bit. This closed the gap.

I wonder if he knows Frank Beamer, who started this at Virginia Tech?  🤔

Thanks for sharing!!
