Bijan is looking positively like Rex Burkhead today.

@smith Falcons probably don’t punt today. This defense has been exposed. Next win might not be until NE

Does this team look like they’re built for December football? I say no.

You could take the word “December” out and I’d have the same answer.

I won’t go that far…. progress has definitely been made. But we’re getting exposed.

The young guns give me a lot of hope for this defense next year. I really believe another offseason of getting our “system” guys is going to solidify this unit.

It’s easy to forget the team is built off castoffs and mercenaries this year. It’s amazing they’ve done as well as they have, IMO.

They’ll have to hire a bunch of mercenaries next year, too. Poona, Tart, Bud, Fulton all FAs with Zont gone and decisions to make about Bosa and Mack. Lots of pieces to replace, so, agreed, it’s great to see Hart and Still playing well. Maybe Egboigbe and Colson can get healthy and get better.

Bud is actually signed to a two-year deal. My guess is that they keep one of Poona and Tart, if not both. But yeah – Fulton is probably gone.

We’ll be able to seek out some actual contracts as well too, depending on where they deploy their FA budget. But there’s plenty of it to go around.

Ok, on that debate, I was pro-Derwin. So there’s one in the plus column for me.

This actually is reminding me of when Denzel was on our team previously.

He’s not the flashiest guy, but the unit has a completely different tone when trying to stop the run. I remember some crazy stats about the Chargers being pretty great against the run when Denzel was on the field, and garbage when he wasn’t.

Thanks for the heads up Kyle. It did feel like talking to the tumbleweeds on the other thread.
