Hey there Chargers fans –

It’s taken a little bit of time to get this thing off the ground… but we’ve finally made (some) progress. Thank you for your patience as we’ve spun in circles trying to figure out how to launch a site – there’s still a TON of work we want to do in the formatting and design department, but we came to the realization that creating content and beginning the process slowly will help teach us how things needs to be organized, and help us build this thing out the right way.

As such, please consider this our “soft launch.” We’re getting things started, and launching the forum, but much will change and adjusted as we dial everything in to best suit the needs of our community.

Let’s start with a little Mission Statement.

At StormCloud, our dedication lies in creating a space and fostering a community that encourages academic discussion and discourse centered around shared fandom for the Chargers and the NFL.

Here’s a breakdown of how we plan to create this community:

• Platform writers seeking to tackle conversation-driving topics, such as prospect scouting, roster construction, scheme breakdowns, contract analysis, and academically breaking down major transactions. We will make formal staff announcements soon, but we currently have 4-5 writers that plan on coming aboard.
• Empower additional content creators to utilize our SEO and outreach to help cross-promote their individual brands, while providing our community with extra multimedia offerings.
• Encourage community discussion on all posts and by hosting a fan-driven forum, which will be monitored and regulated from those that don’t engage in constructive discourse (See: trolls, bots). The forum will start fairly generic, but we’ll build it out with more structure and compartmentalization as we come to understand the needs of our community.
• Let our membership guide us by staying involved in community discussion and acting on feedback. We’ll provide a feedback section in the forum, but will also stay active in reviewing comments on posts or communicating through the site’s support email.
• Create fan-engagement opportunities, such as a Predicative Mock Draft contest.

The hope is to organically grow our offering – my personal goal for this site is to be recognized with a media credential within two years. We’ll see how attainable that is. This site will do everything it can to help assist all of our writers and members with their goals and endeavors in the football community as well… as in all team sports, individual accolades reflect team success, and will be celebrated accordingly!
