The Los Angeles Chargers can secure their place in the playoffs with a win over the New England Patriots on a rare Saturday game in Foxborough. Jim Harbaugh’s band of merry men can celebrate the festive season by gifting fans with the first post season action since 2022 and launch the campaign for the first playoff win since the 2018 season.
The Patriots season has been over for some time now as they sit at 3-12, as it stands this would give them the second overall pick in the draft next spring and whilst rookie head coach Jerod Mayo could try and push for a late season morale boosting win, this doesn’t seem to be in their best interests considering they now have their quarterback for the future which means their clock is running on making the most of his rookie contract.
The injury report (above) and corresponding roster moves (in this link) make this a bit more difficult for the Bolts. It seems as if Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are switching places between the starting role and the sideline as Gus has been ruled out but according to reports Dobbins, who has been out since Week 12, is ready to suit up.
The elevation of two safeties, including new signing Eddie Jackson, could spell trouble for the status of Elijah Molden’s health. Although he has been declared as active he could be on a snap limit.

Good to see Alex Erickson have a job in the NFL. Was the Chargers best WR during the last have of 2023 (which says a lot about Telesco and the 2023 Chargers).

I’s even more impressive when you consider that he hardly ever gets intercepted while zinging those balls just past defenders’ fingertips.
He’s gotten much better at making those “business decisions” after he was hurt a lot earlier in the year. I’m guessing this was a coaching point and yes, very good to see.

Absolute domination of both lines in that 1st quarter. Only the drops stopped our first drive and I like that we’re starting to realize that we can target DD every so often in the Offense and that by doing so, it helps the other players on the field by having someone else the D is trying to key on.
Looks like Maye might be back. That doesn’t feel like a smart thing to do with your rookie QB in a 3-12 season

This game got less interesting with Maye out. It’s a shame, too – there was NO reason to take that hit. He’s a rookie; he’ll learn. Too bad, though.

Maye scrambled from pressure on 3rd down and took a shot to the head. He should be done for the day but the NFL doesn’t take concussions that seriously with how quickly players come back from them so its possible they “clear” him.

That’s the problem with running out NFL Network games because they don’t run the announcers full-season.
