The Los Angeles Chargers can secure their place in the playoffs with a win over the New England Patriots on a rare Saturday game in Foxborough. Jim Harbaugh’s band of merry men can celebrate the festive season by gifting fans with the first post season action since 2022 and launch the campaign for the first playoff win since the 2018 season.
The Patriots season has been over for some time now as they sit at 3-12, as it stands this would give them the second overall pick in the draft next spring and whilst rookie head coach Jerod Mayo could try and push for a late season morale boosting win, this doesn’t seem to be in their best interests considering they now have their quarterback for the future which means their clock is running on making the most of his rookie contract.
The injury report (above) and corresponding roster moves (in this link) make this a bit more difficult for the Bolts. It seems as if Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are switching places between the starting role and the sideline as Gus has been ruled out but according to reports Dobbins, who has been out since Week 12, is ready to suit up.
The elevation of two safeties, including new signing Eddie Jackson, could spell trouble for the status of Elijah Molden’s health. Although he has been declared as active he could be on a snap limit.

When Vidal hits the hole at full-speed, he’s difficult to bring down (and falls forward for 8+ every time). When Kimani stops his feet, he can’t get going again. Dude needs to make one cut and go.
We know the roster has its holes, but there’s a Mental side of Football that Harbaugh has galvanized this team with, so I frankly don’t see any team in the Playoffs that they aren’t capable of beating no matter where the game is.

All the games are flexed out, so in my eye, better for us to play AFTER Pitt plays so we know if we’ve got a chance at 5 or not.

I think they’re just not very good.
That too but they’ve been obvious homers and pretty grudging about recognizing good Chargers plays.
Whoever the color commentator is was doing a good job early on when the game was competitive, but the lack of fight from NE really took away from what he saw after that point.
That’s the right call for a horsecollar even if he didn’t bring him down with it

I’ve been a very vocal QJ critic (and thought Davis needed to be cut in the pre-season).
In the last 2 games, Davis (and the coaching staff) have figured out how to use him as a down-field threat. That TD catch was amazing. If he can catch, whew…
And confident, angry QJ is a completely different player.
Coaching matters. This staff has these players playing at a high level.
It’s so great to see. There clearly finally is a plan thought the whole organization to build a roster with actual depth on it.

All in all that was a good half. Unfortunate that they got the long TD but outside of that Defense played well
