Good morning StormCloud!
The Chargers are getting ready to take on the Pittsburg Steelers is what is bound to be a physical, defense-led slugfest.
Chargers fans have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of whether or not Justin Herbert will start this week after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Carolina Panthers last week. The “inactives” were just released, and there are two clear takeaways: Justin is trending towards starting… but the team also isn’t tipping their hand on whether Easton Stick or Taylor Heinicke is next up should the team have to sit Herbert down.
It may not look like much, but the decision to keep both Heinicke and Stick active is interesting. They could have elected to keep Stick or Heinicke in the emergency QB role to free up a roster spot elsewhere, but that would mean the emergency QB would only be available if the second-string QB was lost to injury.
By keeping both “active” for the game, it suggests they aren’t committed to one or the other. Stick may still be QB2, but this decision suggests he has a very short leash, and could be replaced by Heinicke for performance rather than injury. It’s a very interesting hedge, as every available roster spot is crucial on game day.

BOLT UP, STORMCLOUD! LET’S GET TO 3-0!

YES!!!!
The lack of a big time WR is rearing its head in this game. In no world should Fehoko be a staple target in the offense.
Need Chark back.
Okay now we see how this teams responds when things are absolutely not going their way. Hope they are up to the task
OK, Chargers, settle down.
Yikes that was a bad drive
This doesn’t feel good.
ugh….too close for comfort
Bad decision, DD.
Now let’s see what changes they make on offense.
Gotta answer that with 6.
OK, OK….good stop.
Canโt give up a 3rd and 15!
OK, tighten up D.
Damn it. Felt like the D wasn’t ready. Time out should have been called imo
Derwin blitzed and Fields read it well.
MFer…..
Gilman!!!
Got saved there.
Oof
Tackle dammit!!!!
Henley and Poona. Nice combo.
Fucking facemask
That’s so dumb
Bosa is in street clothes.
Damn….generous spot ref.
Very generous
Need some status reports….Slater, Tito. I’m assuming Bosa is done.
Slater has his helmet on.
Wrapped left biceps.
No word on Tito.
10-7. Iโll take it. Big stop to start the second half.
yes please
Holy shit that was very catchable
That was stupid considering Herb’s injury IMO
Put Dicker in for a 65-yarder!
Should we now try a field goal?
Why Herbert?!?!
Nice!
Nope
Looooonnnngggg FG attempt.
62. Miss it!
Hoping for a Davis return
Fultonโs first mistake in ten quarters.
Dammit!
A pick six here would be pretty awesome ๐
Slater into locker room. Uh-oh.
Crap
ugh
Pipkins at LT, Salyer at RG. Brendan Rice in.
WTF?
Yikes that should have been picked off
Salyer at LT?
Hadn’t noticed….
I thought Slater was still out there. Maybe he’s playing guard?
Oof….that was close on both ends.
Not a late hit?
Herbie’s arm strength overcoming the gimpy ankle.
Damn what a punt
OK, let’s put at least another 3 on the board!!
Great stop!
Nice work Zont!
One step back, one step forward.
Tuli putting in some work today!
Such a great player. Very easy to root for as well
Nick musta been breast fed while Joey got the discount formula…lol
That was kept beneath the sink with the Pine-Sol and the Drano.
lol
Dang it….inside pressure
Always a bitch. Would really love for the Chargers to get their center of the future next off-season
Haha Davis finally getting the ball. I feel like he runs the most yards on the team without getting the ball
