The Chargers face off against the Carolina Panthers for their Week 2 matchup. The Panthers have been a struggling franchise as of late. Their quarterback carousel has been dizzying, their owner has tossed drinks on fans, and they may have blown their franchise-saving opportunity by selecting Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It’s been a rough go in Charlotte.
The Panthers may be one of the easier matchups on the Chargers’ schedule, but the importance of this win can’t be overstated. The Bolts are staying on the east coast to cut down on travel time in preparation of their Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We’ve seen extended road trips like this galvanize teams, and starting the trip off on the emotional high of a win would be an excellent way for the boys to continue buying-in to Jim Harbaugh’s vision.
To get you pumped up for the game, look at this post from Tony Jefferson this morning.
Alohi Gilman was announced OUT yesterday, with Tony Jefferson getting the practice squad activation. Harbaugh indicated that Jefferson is the “next man up” in place of Alohi. The fact that TJ is posting a old Seau picture has me PUMPED to see how physical he plans on being today!

But why am I still a little happy to see the Ravens go 0-2?
I don’t expect the Raiders to be competitive, but the Ravens are expected to end up in the playoffs. Would be nice to have one less team be in the hunt. I know it’s really early to celebrate, but watching them go 0-2 is still nice.
Plus, our week 1 win looks even better now!
Great win today btw. Again amazing defense and rushing attack! Herbert with a few bad mistakes and we still win comfortably! This is a new era people and I love it!

I have to say how refreshing a grinding, boring run game is. I would be lying if I wasn’t underwhelmed by this passing offense though.

I understand that sentiment. At the same time how much do they have the show right now. Honest question could it be that they just don’t want to show anything because they haven’t really needed it yet?
I wondered about this as well and it is a possibility. Now that grownups run this team, they will stick with whatever is working until someone stops it. Then they will bring out other schemes. No more of trying to out guess how your opponent is out guessing you and planning to fool their out guess with a better out guess (that sentence hurt to write; I don’t know how Staley and others lived it lol).
The Elijah Molden trade is looking very good so far. Did the Chargers identify something with secondary players in Tennessee? Fulton also came over from the Titans right?

Pretty upset. I’m way, way more concerned about QBs getting hurt when they are trying to do way too much when a pocket has collapsed around them, than when they scramble or take designed runs.
It’s just so damn easy to get your legs taken out. Brady learned the value of just swallowing the ball, loss the play but win the game.
Honestly, that was just god-awful decision making and awareness by Herbert.
