I read this list every year as a prep for the college football season. I am not getting into the prospects just yet. I usually wait until about 2-3 weeks into the college football season before I start taping my games for scouting unless it’s a big time game like the Texas-OSU game opening week. I will listen to a few of the Summer Scouting episodes of the NFL Stock Exchange podcast to get an idea of the players to watch for the upcoming season. As sick as it sounds, I usually get the itch to start watching player tape around Thanksgiving right before bowl season so I can start my prospect lists, and the NFL Draft order starts taking shape.

Please, for the love of god, draft a QUALITY center EARLY in the draft.  Looking like the IOL is going to be Johnson, Bozeman, Salyer (with Beckton hurt).  I’m hopeful Jamaree’s better conditioning will take his play up a notch, but have zero confidence Johnson & Bozeman’s football situational awareness/ability to pick up stunts is going to improve.

For all the clamoring to Allen, by far the largest issue on this offense, as it was at the end of last season, is the interior OL.  With the current crew, the Chargers are struggling for a WC spot (then 1-done in the playoffs).  I’m not sure if James is the answer at center, but James is AN answer at center.  I would much rather see what that looks like than rolling back the same dudes that flailed at just about every stunt in 2024.

@kevdiego from your lips to the football god’s ears re: center.

What’s up with Becton? Guess I missed something.

@buck-melanoma Beckton hasn’t been practicing.  Harbaugh says he’s working through something minor, so his leg was likely amputated.

@kevdiego Maybe we found one 😛

Kaltenberg’s RAS score was 9.72, ranked 20th out of 673 Centers drafted since 1987.

Also some kind of Academic All American.

Also was Aidan O’Connell’s Center for 2 seasons at Purdue in a Pro Style system.

Let’s hope he makes it through waivers to the PS!

@alisterlloyd It would be great if he could be groomed into a player.  He’s currently practicing with the 3rd string.  With James on the roster, I don’t see a path to the roster, so yea, fingers crossed he clear waivers…
