The Bolts roll into Week 7 looking to turn momentum into a streak after last week’s storm-soaked win in Miami. Greg Roman’s quick game found rhythm, Justin Herbert looked decisive again, and the defense showed flashes of progress — but Jesse Minter’s group still needs to clamp down on the run as they face a Colts offense built around Jonathan Taylor and rising tight end Tyler Warren.
This week’s matchup feels like a test of toughness and adjustment. Can the Chargers keep the offense balanced, protect Herbert against Lou Anarumo’s creative fronts, and plug those backside run fits that have been haunting them? With Denzel Perryman back and Khalil Mack healthy, there’s no better time to find out.
Kick back, grab your storm gear, and sound off below — it’s game day. Let’s hear your bold predictions, score calls, and who you think steps up big against Indy.

Need to score a TD here.
Good to see Harbaugh go for it on 4th down.
Agreed. At some point you’re still playing to win or you’re not.
Fire Roman before the next offensive huddle as a start.
I guess we don’t need to worry about Minter leaving for a HC gig….
So what kind of trade value does Khalil Mack have?
Honest question because at this point we may consider selling a few older assets with the needs on the team.
I believe that the return for Khalil would be higher than any potential Comp Pick for him. Seattle sounds like a Buyer and the Mike McDonald Scheme is the same thing but with much better personnel.
I don’t think trading Mack is practical. Mack signed a one year contract to play with this team. No way he would bless a trade, doubtful a team would pay much for him and don’t think trading away a clubhouse leader sends the right message.
He will never generate a comp pick as he’s going to either play for the Chargers next year or retire.
I think having an earnest discussion with Khalil about places he might like to play for would be something he would understand.
A 3rd would be a Yes but even a 4th right now seems appealing with the needs of the team.
Assuming they lose, this team will still be 4-3 and in first place, with their Alt & Pipkins returning.
They do need to figure out their defense as they haven’t stopped a thing for the last few weeks.
I agree. Mack will retire before getting passed on IMO.
Its not about passing on him as it is sending him to a place he could win when the team clearly isn’t going to.
And I think Mack has had enough of chasing. He bought in.
I’m ready for Run, Run Pass at this point or else just put Lance in and keep Justin healthy.
If anyone watching this game doesn’t see the difference in offensive schemes, they’re an idiot. Even with Alt and Slater, the offense never looked as explosive as Indy. Hell, every team we have played routinely schemes plays where guys are running wide open in space. Every play Herbert throws our WR has a guy draped all over him.
That’s fair. The NFL has figured out Minter a bit. He needs to counter-punch.
And Roman was a bad hire. I know he’s Jim’s buddy, but he’s not the coach to win with in the modern NFL.
Exactly. Jim’s buddy who is covering his ass but preaches accountability. Next man up. Blowing smoke up Herbert’s ass while overseeing his dismantling. Harbaugh should wear Tea Party patches on his shirts.
Yeah, I fucking said it. The NFL has left this tired trope behind. Last year was a mirage that filled my “half empty” glass. It ain’t working this year.
Winner my ass. Prove me wrong, Harbaugh. Please make me eat my words.
Sad to say, but this team is never winning anything with these coordinators. Minter is just a younger Gus Bradley that plays pussy zone with no pass rush and Roman’s scheme is not built for the 2025 NFL.
I usually try to keep a beer-per-quarter pace. Looks as if I’m off to 7-11 at half.
lol….I hope they’re offering better than PBR. Though Ive enjoyed many cold PBR’s in my time here.
Not joking at all, but my local 7-11 stocks Firestone’s Union Jack for me and a couple of other guys. It’s not on their master list, and they have to ring it in using some secret code, but they’re good like that.
In reality this team beat the Chiefs which was a good win, a horrendous LV team and needed Herbert to pull out a miracle to beat Den. Their other win was a last min FG against a putrid MIA team. They aren’t on the same level as the better teams in the league. At this point they’re probably not a playoff team.
Just dropping in to offer my “you’d prefer your glass half empty” take.
This is a disciplined, next man up, smashmouth Jim Harbaugh roster?
Laugh. My. Fucking. Ass. Off.
Mack with one good arm is outplaying most of this team. Good thing injuries are providing cover for this impostor who brought his buddy Greg Roman in to shit on Herbert’s career.
Eli was right. Fuck the Spanii.Them owning an NFL team is like the Annandale School for the Blind manning an elite sniper team.
Hey Buck glad to see you pop in. I’ve been saying it for a few weeks, this team over valued their success last year winning 11 games against a cupcake schedule. How else do you not upgrade IOL and Edge which are 2 positions killing them now?
You and I were preaching caution last year and being called negative.
I’ll see that negativity and raise it with a large dose of reality.
Thx man. Miss hanging with ya. I’m just monitoring my dosage here. lol
And that’s the Buck we love. Welcome to the thread, friend. My faith is still intact, blind as ever.
I wanna believe as much as anyone, dude. I’ve been agonizing and celebrating with this team since 1992 so when someone who knows FUCKALL about me says I like my glass half empty? Yeah, its goddamned personal.
Roman is a lead albatross and Harbaugh is covering for his ass. Let’s start there.
‘81 Epic in Miami for me when I loved baseball over all things. So, yeah, glass half empty? Fuck that. I was at the Murph when they came home from Pittsburgh in January 1995. And if anyone is “half-full,” I’m ok with that, but those of us who have been around, well, we’ve been around. Show me your scars, I’ll show you mine.
Honest question – how much do you think wearing the clownish uniforms affect the team’s play?
It sure as hell isn’t helping. One and done with these monstrosities please
That’s zero excuse.
Ok. 3rd & 13. How are they going to get this one?
A punt!!! OMG!!! A punt!!!
Herbert has to fucking run instead of triple pumping. 3 yards is better than a pick
Down 17 he’s playing hero ball. He could’ve eaten it and been down 14. Not great, but a better play.
Now it’s u to the D, and we’re seeing how well that’s going.
Sweet lord. Now we’re entering dumb season.
And this one is over.
But we won 11 games last year. 🙄
Pretty much. Win percentage is already in the write-off zone.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but our leading rusher is Haskins, with 3 yards. Not average, total.
Damn it. Refs not helping either
It’s panic stations now. This team needs 7.
Third and 17 turns into seven points. These beers are going down more and more quickly. Wake me in the fourth. Or don’t.
I need the Chargers to score a few more points to hit my over bet otherwise the Colts will just milk it.
Can everyone stop talking about OL injuries? This defense has sucked since the Denver game. Maybe everyone can stop blowing Minter.
Tough to see Henley struggling this badly. Really hoped he would up his game this year and become a true star LB. That’s not happening
Look on the bright side – it’s becoming less likely that Minter will be poached away to be a head coach.
So we’re stuck with him?
Likely.
Henley has been abysmal today. Truly shocking.
Halftime speech: “Whatever you’ve been doing, do the opposite!”
Minters defense is being pulled apart like a turkey leg
They really have no excuse. They are healthy
God damn it. Chargers really are making me fear 3rd and longs again. PTSD to the Staley era
Minters D is a fraud. 3rd and long might as well be 2nd and inches
What do you suppose will happen on 3rd&17?
That.
Take the bullets out of the gun so they can stop shooting themselves in the foot!
If I’m Harbaugh I’m fining $10k for any flag given up. It’s inexcusable how often this offense and special teams are putting themselves in bad positions.
Teart the first one who’s gonna have to put money in the penalty jar
Herbert getting absolutely zero help. Drops like that are just absolutely brutal
Fuck Dissly. I’ve seen him drop to many passes.
It’s a big ask, but it’s up to Justin to match score. Surprisingly, the O-line is holding up better than expected, considering.
Maybe Spanos needs to go on the sideline with a headset?
3rd and 10 they give up 9. Unless it’s 3rd and 4 or more they aren’t punting today. It’s like watching an 8 year old play Madden.
Let me know now, is my hope for a Chargers win today foolish? I can’t stop believing, all evidence and history to the contrary.
I didn’t think they were winning and nothing about the 1Q changed my mind. The TOP is a joke.
Well after 1 quarter it’s only 6-3, so there is that. Yardage is 141 to 24, though.
Colts might not punt today.
I have seen this game many times over 40 years. Every replay, penalty, fluke turnover goes against us. Just has that feel.
It’s all too familiar.
I have been watching Chargers games since 2009. I know exactly what you are talking about. Yet every week I just start hoping for a victory again.
Chargers are not equipped to stop this. Has to suck for Harbaugh to see the other team play exactly the type of bully football he wants to play
Do you think Steichen would come back to be OC again?
Oh man could you imagine our offense if Herbert and Steichen stayed together for a couple more seasons.
Nice stop.
Cant wait to see these all canary unis… in a museum.
Ah, shit. Not a stop.
Yeah they are not great. Feels harder to take the team seriously with uniforms like that
Here comes the first backbreaker
Interesting to see what the D does this drive.
So this is now our 7th OT?
yep
All these OL injuries…
Everyone in the world knew that Taylor is the guy the defense has to key on, yet he goes absolutely untouched. I’m a little anxious here.
It’s crazy. You would think that is the one thing they have been working on this past week
Ow boy this is going to hurt. My fantasy opponent has Taylor in his lineup so it’s going to hurt in multiple ways
Our only hope is to get Herbert enough time to go score-for score with them.
Unlikely, I know, but we’ll see.
This is going to be a long game
The pass rush sucks. There’s nobody with 5 yards of Jones when he drops back
I really don’t know what to expect from this game. Not very hopeful for a win because of the Colts strength being the run game but let’s see what happens!
Mike McDaniels is fired tomorrow, right?
Yeah, that team is fucked. The cherry on top of that shit Sunday being that Tua contract
Game predictions:
Taylor is going to run and run and run.
Herbert is going to run and run and run for his life.
Will it be enough? Maybe.
If the Chargers don’t shoot themselves in the foot with missed tackles, penalties, or other bonehead plays, and if the Chargers can get a turnover or two, and if the Chargers can force a few punts, and if Roman can help Herbert get the ball out of his hands in 1.5, then they’ll be in the game. If any of these don’t happen, then we tip our hats to our old friend Shane Steichen and call it a day.
All that said, I’ve got my faith and a six pack of Union Jack. This will be a revealing week as to who the 2025 Chargers are. Game blacked out in my area so I’ll be listening to Money and DJ and doing laundry. Cuz I’m hard core like that.
Bolt Up, one and all!!!!!!
