Since the Bolts play tonight, and since I’ve started working for national defense, I’m offering a DEFCON watch on all NFL games. I rank them:

  1. Chargers game. (Pending, but always the highest alarm.)
  2. AFC games with playoff implications.

Raiders lost to the Broncos in a game that only kind of resembled football. End result, bad.

Dolphins beating the Bills in the third. Tangentially good for the Chargers, should they compete for the AFC West title

Jaguars beating Houston. Would prefer to see Houston winning to put the non-Colts into the spin cycle of AFC South teams looking for playoff spots.

  1. AFC vs. NFC

F-ing Colts stole one in overtime against Atlanta.

Vikings down, but holding tough against the Ravens.

Patriots knocking the Bucs around. (Sigh.)

  1. AFC matchups with draft implications.

Browns and Jets. Worth a look, but who cares?

  1. NFC matchups with playoff and/or draft implications.

Saints and Panthers? I mean, human beings spent money on tickets.

Giants at Bears. For some reason it’s on my tv right now, but I should make better use of the coming hours.

The Jags helped out by blowing the game to Houston. Huston has a nasty D. They could be dangerous down the stretch especially if they get Stroud back. Beating Jax on Sunday would be huge for playoff implications since it would give us a 3 game lead over them, plus the tie breaker. Jags still have to play Tenn twice and the Jets so they still have some easy opponents left.
