Happy Football New Year!! We have finally made it through another long, grinding offseason to kick off the 2026 NFL Season. I have enjoyed the offseason content that this site has provided, as well as consuming NFL content from other teams, just to get a feel for the 2026 landscape. It was a good exercise to try to get the pulse of the fanbase of different teams and their expectations for the season.
One thing that I found interesting is that teams that are bad or perceived to be bad or rebuilding had a pretty positive response from the fans. I attribute that to having little to no expectation for serious winning, so they are just happy to see the growth of the team and/or the new identity from a new staff.
On the flip side, most of the proposed “good” or “contending” teams fans skewed negatively. Again, this is probably attributed to the failed expectations of the team in previous seasons. The exceptions IMO were the Seahawks, Chiefs, Rams, Pats and Bears. Those fans, for the most part, had a positive response to the team, it’s offseason and the outlook for 2026. I think the majority of our fanbase has been more negative than positive over the offseason, mostly because of the FA spending and the way the OL was “rebuilt.” The Biadasz injury stoked the flames as well. I will admit I have skewed negatively since the Houston playoff loss and most of my frustration is due to the perceived lack of adequately addressing on the OL.
But each New Year comes with resolutions and my resolution is to not be so negatively affected by each loss. I will TRY to not to view each game in a vacuum, but it is going to be hard. I will attempt to take a broader approach to the season overall and not be so doom and gloom after a loss, unless this team goes off the rails and really underwhelms. I am not saying that I won’t be critical, but I will try to not let the losses outweigh the wins and the positives. After all, we waited months for the season to return, so why not relish the wins, watch the rookies develop, take in the fresh exciting offensive defensive schemes and enjoy the positives more? Especially since I am planning to see the team play in Baltimore, hopefully with a Stormcloud buddy, and again in Tampa, there’s plenty to look forward to.
So fans as we embark on another Chargers football season do you have any resolutions to practice this season? What are you guys looking forward to the most? Certain players, schemes, matchups, a playoff push, team coverage or anything else? Let’s hear it.

Go Bolts!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
