Elliot is a player who is not elite at any particular aspect of his game, but when you put on the tape, he is just consistent and always around the ball. His best attribute is that he is a very sound tackler who has good wrap up technique. He is also good at triggering downhill once he diagnoses and closing space quickly between him and the ball carrier. While he is not completely comfortable in man coverage, he plays well in zone where he has enough speed and recognition to make plays. Durability is also a key to his game as he has racked up over 300 tackles in his career. He is not a complete three-down player yet, but his ability to play well in zone and his willingness to get downhill and be a sure tackler can make him part of a team’s LB rotation to start.
