#BoltUp! At 0-6, the Chargers return home to SoFi Stadium for the “Battle of Los Angeles” against Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, and the 3-4 Rams. With the Offense sitting 32nd in EPA per play and scoring just 15 points per game, the pressure on Offensive Coordinator Mike McDaniel has reached a boiling point. Is this his final chance to save his job and get Los Angeles into the win column, or will Sean McVay’s squad hand the Bolts another agonising loss? Today on Thunder Down Under Chargers, Alister and Andy break down every angle of this Week 8 showdown.
What we cover today:
⚡ Set the Stakes: Can a 12th-ranked Chargers Defense slow down the Rams’ heavy 13-personnel packages and Kyren Williams/Blake Corum rushing attack, or is this a get-right spot for Rams offense?
🛡️ Tactical Breakdown: How Chris O’Leary can force Matthew Stafford into turnover-worthy plays under pressure, and where Justin Herbert can attack back-up cornerbacks and linebackers in coverage.
🔑 Offensive Simplification: Adjusting 21-personnel usage, finding answers for Omarion Hampton from 11-personnel, and exploiting the Rams’ 32nd-ranked Special Teams unit for hidden yards.
🔮 Score Predictions: Alister and Andy set the key winning conditions for both teams and lock in their final score predictions for Sunday.
