Good morning and afternoon, StormCloud!
The Chargers have another opportunity to put the “Chargering” moniker to bed as they prepare to face the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans, like the Chargers, are in the first year of a coaching and cultural change. They let the focal point of their offense, and arguably their entire team, depart in free agency to sign with the Baltimore Ravens. Although Tony Pollard has done an admirable job replacing Derrick Henry as the team’s lead back, Henry and former head coach Mike Vrabel set a punishing power football tone that Tennessee has pivoted from since Brian Callahan’s hire.
Callahan attempted to recreate the magic of Cincinnati’s aerial attack by signing Calvin Ridley in free agency and hoping he and DeAndre Hopkins could create a prolific tandem to help aid Will Levis’ development. That hope dissipated before the trade deadline, and Hopkins was shipped to the Chiefs for a conditional 4th round pick.
While the Chargers shift from a finesse team to a defensive-led, old-school mentality, the Titans are taking the opposite approach. A Mike Vrabel team would have challenged this unit in physicality, similar to how the Steelers almost seemed to take it personally that Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers were attempted to beat them at their own game, and brought their very best when facing the Bolts in Week 3. However, this Titans team is in transition and gives the Chargers and excellent opportunity to continue stacking wins before facing a four-week gauntlet of playoff-caliber teams.
Here is the latest injury report from both teams. L’Jarius Sneed will be “OUT” for the Titans, with Dillon Radnuz and Julius Chestnut listed as questionable. The Chargers don’t have any players officially declared “OUT” as of yet, but it’s important to note that Kristian Fulton, Khalil Mack, and Trey Pipkins all missed practice on Friday.
Be sure to bring your thoughts and comments to the discussion below, StormCloud!

Damn Edwards sure as hell looks a lot better after that IR stint. Probably played hurt to start the season
And then he does that 🙂
He definitely looks like the guy we were hoping he’d be.
Uhhhh….what was that about Davis?
Haha. I’m still here.
We love ya man 😉
Absolutely!! Just a little smack talk, brother.
I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t mutual. Going back through the annals, I wasn’t excited about drafting Herbert, so… I’ve got a history of being wrong.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was in the same boat. I’m still eating crow!
I hoped so!! lol
😇😉
Can’t see the game, but just “watching" the GameCast, it looks like the Charger defense just has no answer for Levis and Pollard. So – those of you actually watching – is that wrong?
Just failing to bring down ball carriers- from my between baby-chasing glances
Yeah unlike the last couple of weeks the first man there doesn’t get the ball carrier down on his own
Thus defense seems to have trouble defending screens and swing passes
Don’t really like the fact we seem to get zero pressure on Levi’s when just rushing 4
I guess that’s what happens without Bosa and Mack on the field consistently
This game would feel very different if Dissly had caught that beautiful pass from Herbert for the TD. Let’s hope the defense comes out of the gates flying and that they can start putting them away
Let’s start with a stop coming out of half and put up some second-half TDs for a change.
Mike Will with the game winner for Pittsburgh. Good for him, but also, fuck that.
Yeah, I thought I couldn’t hate Washington any more but…..
Always good news to go to half with the lead, but dang if they’re not leaving money on the table. Great bit of luck with with the overrule of the interception. I’m listening on radio, so I didn’t see how close it was, but the announcers were really unsure.
To be honest it was pretty clear on the replay. It was clear that his hand started moving forward still in control of the football. Obviously pretty lucky that that was the case 🙂
Yeah, I thought his hand was moving forward but my Chargers PTSD was fully engaged.
Oh I feel you. I was also fully expecting for the ref saying “the ruling on the field stands"
Whew….I thought his arm was coming forward but so used to getting screwed.
Finally….shoulda never been in that position.
Looking at you, Harbaugh.
It looked like his hand was moving forward still in control of the ball. No empty hand moving forward so maybe they reverse the call
Same here….and we got the call for a change.
Zion got his ass beat like a drum there. I wanna stay in his corner but he’s making it hard.
Not like this. 🫤
I had high hopes.
Terrible. If Harbaugh wanted to try and get points before half why the fuck didn’t he use his TO? At this point take a knee and get to half
Fuck me.
Harbaugh F’d up the clock management there. Should have called a TO after the Poona sack
I thought the same.
Unimpressed with his clock management.
C’mon. Quick turnover and steal some points late.
Hell yeah! Herbert sez I’ll do it myself!!!
Stalling out in the red zone brings back bad memoeries of years past…
Fuck me….another FG?
Let’s get seven!
So where’s this guy Chark I’ve been hearing about?
Ok. Can we please get a TD drive here?
Well, held them to a FG attempt….and no good!!!
Need a stop here
Henley making plays. Glad he got a whole year of rest last year.
Bosa still on the sideline apparently on a pitch count. Played 20 and 19 in the past two weeks.
I wish we’d traded that china doll.
JFC, both safeties???? WTF??
Can you imagine what Herbert could do with a real pass catching TE?
One more offseason and it’ll happen. I believe.
Nice catch but shoulda let it drop.
And now a good play called back.
Oh wait….caught a break!!!
It’s borderline incredible we have 5 wins with this IOL
That’s what 6’6″ 240 LB QB can do for ya.
Little help there.
Weird McConkey not involved yet. Wonder how the Titans are playing him?
Sarrell in for Salyer. Wtf?
Salyer isn’t injured.
That’s…..weird. And wrong, IMO.
Time to bury these Oilers. I’d love for this game to be a laugher by the fourth.
from your lips to the football gawds’ ears.
I was on Team Tau regarding Davis before the season. After 8-1/4 games, I’m still on that team.
Ok, let’s get the offense going.
Please. Good first drive but sputtered. Need to get going, keep Herbert on the move and away from that inside pressure.
OK, that’s what we needed. Defense coming alive.
Come on Tuli. That was a weak-ass tackle attempt there, from a player I really love to watch play.
Yeah it was. Lucky he had help right there.
Fuck. Fuckfuckfuck. Goddamn inside pressure.
Getting Cardinal game vibes already
No help over the top on Ridley??? That was a big no no.
Well shit
Cmon defense!!! Get it together.
Glad to see Mack in.
OK, D….let’s do this!!
Sure woulda liked 6 there. 🫤
Damn. Get the seven! On the plus side, Salyer looks good at RG.
Damn, look at Gus! Welcome sight from him.
Shake and bake Herbie!
Damn, Gus looking way better than before the injury.
Cmon, go for it!
OK, let’s go Chargers!
I hope Mack can go, especially since the china doll outta Florida is still on a pitch count.
