Ryan’s Notes

  • Iowa State: blocking is good in short bursts but he really needs to learn how to extend them with better footwork and a willingness to win the day.
  • I think he looks a bit slow with the ball in his hand but his route speed and body control when moving at pace is impressive.
  • I especially like his ability to climb and stack safeties playing catch technique, he knows with his speed that once he’s level he’s winning no matter how far away it’s coming.
  • His hands are good but I need to see him win through contact which is tough as that’s just not Miami’s game.
  • Florida: He just gets very little pushback even with a running start, I think he’s going to need the Evan Engram treatment where he’s not asked to block if the system can avoid it.
  • The Miami offense is very spread out so it’s hard to tell how he’d look in a pro system but with his athletic ability I think his ceiling is enticing enough.

Ryan’s Summary

Arroyo is a typical big slot who threaten vertically with his long strides and decent long
speed. His blocking is about average at best as he lacks the requisite power needed to
clear run paths. He has snaps in-line and in the backfield but he needs to be a lot better
to take on pro box players. Overall I like his tape enough but there’s no part of it that
stands out as valuable.
