Hey everyone - here's a live look at something I'm putting together for us. I've published this page, but not connected it to a menu or anything, so it's basically hidden unless you click this link:

https://stormcloud.blog/roster-dashboard/

I think I'm going to need to hire a developer from Fiverr to get it to be well formatted/prettied up, but the goal is to have a live salary-cap tracker for our current year, rolling cancellation charts each year to track our comp pick allotment in the offseason, and projections for outgoing UFA's that might net us some compensatory picks.

Keeping track of the UFA's works two-fold... we'll have decisions to make on who we retain as a core member of the squad (guys like Slater, maybe Mack?), and guys we let walk for picks. I like keeping track of the outgoing guys, because it also tells us how many CFA's we might be able to sign.

For example, in year's where we don't have many higher-priced outgoing FA's, there is less opportunity cost for signing a bigger-name CFA. Additionally, in years where we have a ton of outgoing UFA's like this year, there is added incentive for Hortiz to do an in-season trade, since our compensatory picks max out at 4. Quick note - the projections I include assume a decent amount of team success, and for the player to have rebounded their value. Players with high draft-pedigree get a sizeable bump, as with a rebound season their market should be able to return.

In looking at the current list of guys set to go, I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to evaluate Asante right now. The Ravens are one of the more active deadline traders, we brought on three new CBs this offseason, and Zont may not be the well-rounded CB they want on this roster. They could decided to try and maximize their overall returns, since they are in a good position to max out their comp picks with or without Zont, by flipping him to a team at the deadline for a Day 2 pick.

Just a thought! Let me know if you find this kind of info interesting and would like to see the development of this prioritized, and what other info you'd like to see on this kind of dashboard
