Good afternoon StormCloud!
The Chargers are hosting the Buccaneers at SoFi Stadium today as they continue to right for their bid into the postseason.
The Bucs have had an up-and-down season thus far, anchored to Baker's inconsistent play and injury-ravaged offense. With Mike Evans healthy again, they have a number of threats on the offensive side of the ball that will keep Jesse Minter's defense honest, but the bigger concern for the Chargers is the extent of their own injury woes.
The offense has been sputtering a bit for the Chargers with J.K. Dobbins out of the lineup and Ladd McConkey fighting through multiple injuries. Making matters worse. Justin Herbert's lower body has had multiple injuries compiled onto the ailments he had worked through earlier in the season, putting his mobility and burst in question heading into this game.
The biggest blessing Los Angeles can hope for is a break-out performance from any wide receiver on the roster outside of Ladd McConkey. Ladd has been fed heavy volume over the last few weeks because of his ability to beat coverage and gain separation, something we haven't seen from any of his peers outside of broken coverages and schemed wins. Whether it's Quentin Johnston getting some underneath volume and winning with some YAC, Joshua Palmer resembling the WR2 we thought he could develop into, or even Derius Davis getting some extra usage - growth from this growth would be incredibly encouraging for a post season run.
Looking at the lastest injury report, Will Dissly and Jalen Reagor are confirmed "OUT's" and Denzel Perryman and Ladd McConkey are listed as "Questionable" and likely are game-time decisions.
Sound off in the comments, StormCloud... how are you feeling about this game?!
Rats. Perryman's out.
This game is going to be a slobber fest. 12-10 is my guess. We won’t be singing praises after this one, I’m still hoping for a win.
Just walked in....bolt the fuck up!!
Well shit....
That Tampa injury list looks like the white pages.
That was the easiest TD score drive I've seen in a while.
Great. Playing from behind already.
OK, answer back offense. None of this slumberfest.
My seat’s not even warm yet.
