Hey Erick - Great stuff. Trying to work my way through these over my morning coffee. When you say Sawyer is not a fit, why do you think that? I tho...
@kylededi I think the Raiders got better by hiring Carroll. They need to find a QB if they want to compete in a division that is looking more and mor...
@tau837 Looking forward to the FA post. A few preemptive comments: Not sure the Chargers will sign Higgins and not sure they should. The happy p...
@tau837 You always do such a great job on these - THANK YOU for taking the time to research & write such great posts. Hopefully we can figure out...
@evolz3737 Yes. I never said being a QB was a key indicator of being a GOOD NFL HC - Just noticing that a lot of successful NFL coaches played QB.
@tau837 Interesting. I wonder if playing QB gives you an advantage as a HC (leadership, decision making) or if successfully playing QB requires skill...
@evolz3737 I think Michael Jordan is a great comp. It sounds like Tom wants to dip in/out rather than diving in full-time (like Elway did with the Br...
@alisterlloyd You bring up an interesting point: What is the ideal career path to become a great NFL Head Coach? A look at a few coaches: Jim Har...
@tau837 For as much as I didn't think the Raiders was a good situation, I think the Bears are only slightly better from a roster standpoint, but expec...
@evolz3737 Yea, I wouldn't have picked the Bears either & agree that Jax was the better opportunity (especially with that shitty division). I h...
@tau837 No question that Higgins is the best FA WR in 2025. The issue with Higgins is his hamstring injury history. He's missed 5 games in each of t...
@tau837 Fair point. It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, Tom will have on the Raiders ability to identify and hire a quality HC. Not ...
@tau837 No question that it would be expensive to cut QJ, which is why is likely won't happen. I was just pointing out that a successful team (like t...
@tau837 For a coach that wants to win, the Raiders have to be the worst option of all openings. Having 3 SB coaches in the division, preparing to pla...
Raiders HC Candidates: - Lions OC Ben Johnson - Lions DC Aaron Glenn - Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo - Ravens OC Todd Monken - Former Jets H...
@evolz3737 Ha - I'm sure a version of that conversation led to the draft pick. How much better would we feel about this roster with Flowers or Addiso...
@evolz3737 I agree with most of this. I do think QJ has skills. He's big, fast and good in space. His issue is he can't consistently catch the ball...
@evolz3737 Interesting discussion. I'm hoping the 2025 Chargers land somewhere in the middle. From a roster standpoint: After completely refresh...
@alisterlloyd Thanks Al. I was to busy/lazy to do more than superficial research. Who do you think will stay/go from the staff? Who do you think SH...
@evolz3737 Going into the season, my hope was that Marc Trestman (who is older, but at one point was the young, innovative pass-centric offensive coac...
@tau837 Agree with you about Davis (which is why WR2 is a priority). Everything else is wishing and hoping (and wishes and hopes are not plans).
Random thought: I wonder how pissed Zeke is that he picked the Chargers?
@evolz3737 Hey Eric - I agree that there are needs on the defense. Re-signing Ford and Tart (both of whom were very good) would be a good place to st...
@buck-melanoma There has been some discussion on various podcasts about the "worst" FA signing. The argument usually came down to DJ Chark vs. Hayden...
@unclejammsarmy I think there may (and should) be some churn on the offensive coaching staff: Marcus Brady (Passing Game Coordinator): Marcus, a ...
@evolz3737 I was thinking the same thing. That, and Jim's son is the ST coordinator for the Seahawks.
Thanks for starting the thread Buck. I wasn't ready for the offseason to start, so this may come off as a bit of a vent: Regarding Herbert, I think...
Completely agree. The offense had opportunities early to put the game out of reach and completely shit the bed.
Agree, but the defense gave up 32 points and couldn't stop shit. And the special teams gave up 2 blocked kicks. Out-coached in every phase.
OK - a couple statements about the 2024 Chargers season: 4 Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin may be the best liquor ever madeJesse Minter will be the Char...
